Imam Mahdi (p.b.u.h) in other Religions world view
Imam Mahdi (p.b.u.h) and his global revolution is not only mentioned in Shiite’s books, but also in many Sunnis’ books. They have discussed about him and explained that he is of Fatima (p.b.u.h.)‘s offspring.
To see this we should refer to their scholars and authentic books. Many Sunni interpreters of Koran as Fakhr Razi and Ghartabi have stated that many verses of Koran directly refer to the Reappearance of Imam Mahdi (p.b.u.h.) at the end of days .
Many of Sunni traditionalists also narrated Hadiths about Imam Mahdi (p.b.u.h.) in their books , among which we see the most valid books of Sunnis as “ sehah settah “ and “Mosnad Ahmad Ibn hanbal “.
Some other Sunni scholars , have written special books on Imam Mahdi (p.b.u.h) as “ Abu Naim Isfahani” in “ forty Hadiths “ and “soyoti “ in “ Hadiths of Mahdi “
Another significant point is that some other Sunni scholars presented some firm proofs and valid Hadiths in their books and essays to defend Imam Mahdi : (p.b.u.h.) and mahdaviyat ideology . they proved that this matter is totally correct and undeniable . One of them is “Muhammad Seddiq Maghrebi “who wrote a book named “manifestation of Ibn khaldoon Doubts “to criticize Ibn khaldoon and deny his proofs.
“Abdol Mohsen Ibn Hamd Al Ibad “is another scholar who wrote an essay by the name of “A Response to denial of true Hadiths on Mahdi” and tried to answer the criticisms Ibn khaldoon had made. Here we just quote two Hadiths which are mentioned in the Sunnis most authentic books:
- The holy prophet says:
“ If just one day of life in the world has been remained, God shall make it longer, so that a man of my offspring rises up who has the same name as me . “
- And He also says:
“A man of my offspring, who is like me in appearance and characteristics, shall rise up. He shall fill the whole world with justice when it is full of cruelty.
This belief _ i.e. waiting for a savior at the end of days – is a universal one and “The Savior”, with different names in other religions, is actually a common feature for whom people of all religions wait until a day when he comes and saves mankind and fills the world with justice . Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and Zoroastrians all believe in him and he is mentioned in their books. Jews call him “Mashiah”, Christians call him “Messiah” and Zoroastrians call him “Sushians“. Here is an example from “Jamasb Nameh”, one of holy books of Zoroastrianism:
“The Arab prophet is the last Messenger of God who comes from the mountains of Mecca… he lives like his people and eats like them … his religion is the best of all and his book rules out all books … his daughter is “The Sun of the universe” and “Queen of all times “and one of her offspring shall rule the entire world at the end of days. He is the last successor of that prophet and his kingdom last until the judgment day.”
